Russian Company Acronis to Develop a Blockchain Project
According to Vedomosti, Russian developer company Acronis intends to integrate blockchain technology in its backup solutions.
Acronis, headquartered in Singapore, develops storage and backup software solutions for international markets. According to the company’s CEO, Sergei Belousov, 3% of overall sales account for Russia, 40% for Europe, 35% for Americas, and 25% for Asia and the rest of the world. As of 2015, the company’s annual turnover comprises around $200 million.
Presently, Acronis is developing a prototype employing a blockchain-based technology dubbed Xray. According to Vedomosti’s informants, the final product will be oriented mostly to corporate customers, rather than to private users. However, there are no further known details as to the actual way the project is intended to work, or its user base.
